Our Family Memories is the inspiration of Carolyn Thomas, a former local newspaper journalist and English teacher.

Carolyn grew up in North Devon but her parents were originally from the Manchester area and had many stories of their childhoods and younger days.

When the UK first went into lockdown as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, like many others, Carolyn was unable to go to work. So she took the opportunity to interview both of her parents and record their life stories and anecdotes for their wider family.

With the help of husband Huw, a former journalist and sub-editor, she put all of those memories into a special book, illustrated with precious family photos.

And that first book was soon followed by similar projects for family friends….
